The Castle of Santa Cecilia (Hotel)

This hotel is one of the most classical buildings in Guanajuato. In the picture we can observe principle of art, for example: Balance because the building has equilibrium in elements. Emphasis or contrast in the main entrance because it shows a difference between the form of the Castle. Other element is Rhythm because of the careful placement of represented elements in the building, like the columns and windows. We can see some elements of art, like: Color in different intensity and value in color. Line is represented in the architectural form of the Castle and the position that each element have. Texture because the principal material of the piece of art is stone and we can distinguish the feeling of the material. The form is represented because the building has three dimensions, mass and volume.
                                                   
The University of Guanajuato

In this picture we can see some principles of art, like: Emphasis or contrast in building that have very strong value of color and in the University because we can distinguish the neutral color in the walls. Variety is presented in all the forms and color of the buildings that are around the University. In the picture are some elements of art, like: Color in different intensity, hue and value because of the variety of form and styles in the buildings. The line is represented in the construction and the geometrical form of the elements; it is represented like a guide.  The form is represented because in the picture we can see three dimensions, mass and volume.  Finally, the space is represented between the buildings around the University of Guanajuato

In this picture, some principles of art are represented. Emphasis or contrast is presented on the top of the figure because there is a kind of light that bring us a feeling of importance. The gradation s presented because of the different sizes that the monument has. The elements of art that are represented in the picture are: Color in a purity intensity and value in the lightness of the hue. Line is presented in the architectural form of the monument, is the element that works like a guide in the form of the figure. Texture is in the material of the work of art, in this case is stone. The form is represented because of the three dimensions: length, weight and depth.
                                                 The Cathedral of San Miguel de Allende  
In this building we can see some principle of art, like: Balance because of the way of combining elements to add a feeling of equilibrium in the work of art. Emphasis or contrast in the top of the Cathedral because is the most important culmination of the architectonical work. We can distinguish Variety because of the different forms and elements that are in the facade of the main entrance. The Rhythm is presented in the careful placement of repeated elements in the building that causes a visual tempo or beat. We can see some elements of art, like: Color in a very special hue and value; Line because that element forms part of the architectural construction and definition of the Cathedral.  The form is represented in the three dimensions, mass and volume that the building has.
Government Palace of San Miguel de Allende

 In this picture we can see a very peculiar building that has some principles of art, like: Balance in the way of combining elements to add a feeling of equilibrium or stability in the work of art. Harmony is presented because of the accentuation of the similarities in the forms of the Palace. Rhythm is an element that is represented in the arches and columns of the building because we can see the careful placement of repeated elements in the building that causes a visual tempo or beat. In the picture are some elements of art, like: Color in a darkness value in color; Line in the architectural form of the building and arches. The texture refers to the quality of the surface or the “feeling” of an object; in this case we can distinguish the stone. Form is represented in the three dimensions, mass and volume.
